ROJ’s Renewal of Resolutions on Computering to Avoid Stressed Eyes – February 8, 2019

After watching the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority’s Webinar on Dry Eye today, February 8, 2019, I was reminded of the resolutions that I made in 2011 and 2012.  I confessed that I have not been fulfilling my resolutions to the letter.

I will start again.  I reviewed my 2011 and 2012 resolutions.

I will not do computering for more than 6 hours a day.   I will keep track of the number of hours.

I will try to apply the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes spent using a screen, I should try to look away at something that is 20 feet away from me for a total of 20 seconds. Or if I forget this, I will close and massage my eyes or look at a distant object for at least one (1) minute, at least once, during each hour of computing.

I will take a break after one hour of computering. I will get up and walk around for at least 5 minutes.

I will use the alarm or timer of my cellphone to remind me of the breaks that I have to take.

I resolve to do the above starting now for the sake of my eyes!
