December 14, 2012 – Preceptorship with UPCM LU5 Students in PGH Breast Care Center: Maika Mortell, Patricia Nacianceno, Mark Mujer, Maja Montaňa, and Mohammad Isa Hadi.
We saw two patients.
One, 22-year-old female, who was told to have breast operation but turned out to be not necessary as she only had fibrocystic breast condition.
She became a friend in my facebook and wrote the following: “Dr. GOD is always w/ us in every minute, seconds of our lives…………..” Christalyn Yarte.
The other was a 53-year-old female with concern on breast pain and with a history of breast cancer (underwent modified radical mastectomy 5 years ago). She had no clinical evidence of recurrence and had non-specific mastalgia on her right breast.
I shared the following information to the students and how to do efficient palpation of the breast.
