Refinements needed in sending SMS on MDH Perimeter Flood Advisories – September 17, 2012

Refinements needed in sending SMS on MDH Perimeter Flood Advisories – September 17, 2012

Today, I received two SMS on MDH Perimeter Flood Advisories which I think need refinements.

The word “update” was used.  There was no initial MDH Perimeter Flood Advisory preceding this.  The word “update” implies that there was  a preceding advisory and that initially, the roads were not passable.   Such a situation did not exist on the morning of September 17, 2012.

Advice: Do not include the word “update” if it is not an update SMS.

Again, the word “update” was used in the absence of an initial MDH Perimeter Flood Advisory preceding this.   Nobody received an initial advisory saying Kalaw was flooded.   Was UN flooded earlier and now passable  or it is now flooded and passable to light vehicles.  Confusing!

To avoid the errors and confusion going on with the advisories, I have requested the Hospital Director to authorize the Head of Security Services, Mr. Bong Ramos, to take charge and supervise the advisories for the moment.
