Breast Cancer Survivor Rosemarie O. Cordero – 25 Years in Remission

Ms. Rosemarie O. Cordero was 35 years old in 1987 when I did a modified radical mastectomy on her cancer in one breast.  The histopathologic result showed invasive ductal carcinoma.  She underwent postoperative chemotherapy.  At age 58, 23 years after the first breast operation, she developed another cancer on her other breast, for which I did a modified radical mastectomy in 2010.  She is taking tamoxifen up to now.  Ms. Cordero, as of June 23, 2012, is 60 years old, 25 years in remission from the first breast operation and 2 years, from the second operation.  We both thank God for this long remission.
