Breast Cancer Survivor Ma. Elena Bernardino – 11 Years in Remission

Ms. Ma. Elena Bernardino, from Olongapo, was 46 years old when she underwent a modified radical mastectomy for her breast cancer followed by postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy (first line – cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, and 5-fluorouracil).  She also took tamoxifen. She has been having check-ups with me since after her operation.  I saw her on March 17, 2012, for a latest follow-up.  There were no clinical signs of recurrence.  She is now 57 years old, 11 years in remission. We both thank God for this long remission.
