Breast Cancer Survivor Rosie Laredo – 17 Years in Remission

Ms. Rosie Laredo is from Occidental Mindoro.  She was 42 years old in 1994 when I did a modified radical mastectomy for her breast cancer.  Histopathology shows invasive ductal carcinoma, 2 cm. in diameter, with one node positive.  She underwent chemotherapy after the operation. After this, she just had regular check-up with me using sign-symptom directed surveillance approach.  I saw her this month for check-up.  She has no clinical evidence of recurrence.  She is now 59 years old, 17 years in remission.  We both thank God for this long remission after a simple treatment.
