Breast Cancer Survivor Amparo Cruz – 14 Years in Remission

Ms. Amparo Cruz is a breast cancer survivor.  She was 49 years old when I operated on her.  I did  a total mastectomy and axillary (armpit) dissection or what is medically known as “modified radical mastectomy.” She had invasive ductal carcinoma, 2.5 cm in size, with nodes negative for spread.  She did not receive any additional treatment after the operation, just check-up with me.  She is now 63 years old and 14 years in remission. We both thank God for this remission.
